The Plan of Salvation

Faith in Jesus Christ is accepting that we cannot save ourselves and believing in His death on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. We are saved by grace through faith, and not by our own good works.

Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace are ye saved through faith;

and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Repentance is an essential part of salvation. We must confess that we are sinners and ask God to forgive us. With the help of God’s Spirit we are to turn away from our sinful ways and turn toward His righteousness. When we repent, we open the door to God’s forgiveness.

I John 1:8-9 – If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Water Baptism is an essential part of New Testament salvation and not merely a symbolic ritual. It is part of entering into the kingdom of God (God’s church, the bride of Christ), and therefore, it is not merely a part of local church membership.

Galatians 3:27 – For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ

have put on Christ.

Spiritual Baptism (or the infilling of the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit) is the seal of God in our lives and the guarantee of our inheritance of eternal life. It is the Spirit of Christ working in us, anointing us with the power to be witnesses for Him. All born again believers must be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

John 3:3-7 – Jesus answered and said unto him, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus saith unto him,

“How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time

into his mother’s womb, and be born?” Jesus answered, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”
